Empaths/Sensitives: Precognitive Dreams

Empaths and Sensitives!?!?! Now I am sure that if you have been following my posts about Deism you are probably a bit confused as to why I am even talking about all of this, why it is that I, who identify as a deist would even entertain something like this… Well, let me say this, even with logic and reason there are somethings about this world around us, that have no true definition, somethings that have to be taken on …. wait for it…. FAITH.

As a Deist there is a certain amount of Faith that comes into play, yes I realize that that is a very controversial statement in itself, but deep down most will agree that on a certain level all belief systems even Deism have a degree of faith that is intertwined into what they believe. I am attaching below my article of Life being a spiritual journey for us all, no matter if we are religious or not. If you want to check it out please feel free to do so.

What is an Empath:

The Dictionary defines an empath like this:

empath [em-path]

In science fiction, empaths have a supernatural ability to feel, and sometimes manipulate, other people’s emotions. In general, empaths are people who deeply understand other people’s feelings, often treated like a personality type in popular psychology.

In other definitions you can see a more detailed explanation from a different standpoint like this one below:

Empaths are highly sensitive, finely tuned instruments when it comes to emotions. They feel everything, sometimes to an extreme, and are less apt to intellectualize feelings. Intuition is the filter through which they experience the world. Empaths are naturally giving, spiritually attuned, and good listeners. If you want heart, empaths have got it. Through thick and thin, they’re there for you, world-class nurturers.

Sensitives are a little more defined, as an empath can be a sensitive, they usually get lumped into the category. But with that being said not all sensitives are empaths, and not all sensitives are “psychic” either. Check out the dictionaries definition of a sensitive below:

sensitive sen-si-tiv ]

endowed with sensation; having perception through the senses.readily or excessively affected by external agencies or influences.having acute mental or emotional sensibility; aware of and responsive to the feelings of others.easily pained, annoyed, etc.

noun a person who is sensitive.a person with psychic powers; medium.

Now not everyone believes that psychology is a science either, so you

Being a highly sensitive person and an empath are not mutually exclusive: One can be both, and many highly sensitive people are also empaths. If you think about this distinction in terms of an empathic spectrum, empaths are on the far end; highly sensitive people are a little further in; people with strong empathy who are not HSPs or empaths are in the middle; and narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths who have “empath-deficient disorders” are at the far opposite end.

The Empathic Spectrum

Narcissists               Loving empathic people           HSPs                  Empaths

The gifts of sensitivity and empathy are precious. We want to keep opening our hearts and break through to new heights in the empathic spectrum. We need these gifts now more than ever.

Okay so we all have dreams, even if we do not remember them fully per-say. But some of us have these dreams that are called precognitive dreams or premonition dreams. Did you know that women are more likely to have these types of dreams than men? This is not to say that men do not have them, no, just that most studies have found that women are far more likely to have a precognitive dream or a premonition when they are awake than men.

Surveys show that women are more prone to premonition dreaming than men. It’s observed that premonitions are common in people who are emotional, and more so in neurotics, as they are more prone to pick up distress. Their supposed ability to foresee evil is attributed to their emotionalism. In psychological terminology, people sensitive to precognition are said to have ‘thinner boundaries’. It is these people who are able to perceive information that is beyond the understanding of physical senses.

Premonition Dreams: A Blessing in Disguise or Evil Personified? by Manali Oak

What exactly is a precognitive dream or a premonition you may ask? Well precognitive dreams are dreams where you have seen an event that tells you something that is to come about in the future, sometimes the messages come in loud and clear and you can’t shake them, even if you want to. Most of the time you do not even

precognitive dream is a type of dream that comes true as a future event. It is also known as Déjà Rêvé (Art Funkhouser, Dr. Vernon Neppe).[1] It can bring about the same sensations associated with Déjà Vu such as the Déja Vu Aura, goose-bumps etc. Types of Precognitive Dreams. Symbolic Precognitive Dream
Dream symbolism abstracts the precognitive information and generally is not realized up until the actual event. This can be a very difficult type of dream to identify as a type of precognitive dream, however certain symbols in the dream can match or greatly exaggerate the future event when it actualizes. The accuracy and quality of this type of dream should be considered of a low grade type of precognition.
Literal Precognitive Dream
From a first-person view, this type of precognitive dream in literal detail. What you sense, think and feel in the dream can actualize in the future-tense when the dream actualizes. This dream can bring about a Déjà Vu aura however linking the memory of the déjà to a dream is what classifies this type of dream as Déjà Rêvé.
3rd Person Precognitive Dream
From a third-person vantage point, this type of precognitive dream can take on both symbolic and literal similarities however does not suggest that the information being observed will occur from a first-person point of view.
Lucid Precognitive Dream
A lucid dream is a dream where a person is awake and realizes that they are dreaming. This alert and awakened focus state also can emerge within the phenomena of precognitive dreams. This type of precognitive dream can have an even more pronounced déjà vu aura then a non-lucid precognitive dream. Robert Waggoner explains there are two types of lucid precognitive dreams: Active and Ambient.[4]In an active lucid precognitive dream, the dreamer actively tries to engage the precognitive dream, where in an ambient lucid dream the dreamer passively observes the dream remaining within the usual dream flow.

The Anatomy of a Precognitive Dream By Ian Wilson

I, myself, have had many of these types of dreams over the years. Sometimes, it is dreaming of a person way before I actually meet them in person, which leaves me with an extreme case of Deja vu.

Déjà vu is the feeling that one has lived through the present situation before. The phrase translates literally as “already seen”. Although some interpret déjà vu in a paranormal context, mainstream scientific approaches reject the explanation of déjà vu as “precognition” or “prophecy.

Then I have also had the predictive dreams too, those can be anywhere from an immediate event to one that will come later in life. Sometimes, I can tell the difference between the two of them and other times its a vague feeling that just lingers in the back of my mind.

One of my most vivid ones, I woke up out of a dead sleep with a horrible headache on one side of my head. I knew I had to call and check up on a family member that instant, even though it was at 3 am, I still made the call. As it turns out that family member I had dreamed about, had fallen in the bathroom and hit their head. It was in that moment that I learned to listen to my dreams, to listen to what they were trying to tell me, even if it was vague or subtle in nature. This was something that I personally needed to pay attention to.

Later the next day, I was told, that several of the women in our family had dreams just like mine, but not always with the same accuracy that mine had. Some of them chose to dismiss them and not pay attention to what their own dreams where trying to tell them. I think the dismissal of the dreams was because the dreams themselves, would scare them or they did not know what to do with the information they had received from said dreams.

I have never been scared of the dreams, no matter how painful they can be, or even the situations that may be presented in them. I am at peace with the ability to have these dreams, and it is not always constant. Sometimes, I will go years without a predictive/precognitive dream, then there are times where they come nightly. It all depends on my connection with the people in them, or the events that are transpiring at that point in time.

Even the dreams that are not 100% clear have meaning to them if you look deep enough into them. Sometimes it is a placement of an object, the colors that are in the dream, or even an animal that appears in the dream.

For example: my most recent one involved someone I have not spoken to in years… I had a dream several days ago where I was running around trying to catch their dog, which has long since been deceased. Once I was able to catch the dog, I sat there for a moment staring into his eyes and wondering how I was going to get him home… How was I going to tell them I found him? There were a lot of questions that were presented in this dream. Fast forward a few days into the present and I get contact from them. This was a subtle hint from this dream that contact was coming, it did not make sense in the moment but it does now on so many different levels.

To fully understand the way the mind processes things, you would have to dive deeply into the dreamscape and look at it as a whole. There is a lot of literature out there that can help you decipher your own dreams. But, I will say this, should you chose to understand your dreams, and why you are dreaming what you are, be prepared to look deeply into your own psyche.

Your mind is a wonderfully complex thing; where not everything is black and white. Sometimes, the meanings of your dreams are very grey when you look further into them. There is room for interpretation and room for error in those interpretations. Science does not fully believe that such dreams exist as a whole, in fact the scientific community is split down the middle with how and why these dreams come to be. No matter what you chose to believe or how you approach your dreams, do keep in mind that certain types of people are more prone to having precognitive dreams.
