To the tune of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Rewritten for my husband <3
[Be gentle, this is my first time attempting to write a parody.]
Now this is a story all about how
My life got flipped turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I met my prince right here.
In Warner Robins, I was born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, Artsy, relaxing all cool
And hanging outside of the school
When a couple of years go by
I started dating again and was about to cry
I got online and found a tool
And said “Let’s give this online dating try, you fool”
I logged and I looked
But was about to dismay
I saw this guy and said “hooray”
There were a ton of guys but this one was no frog I thought “I might as well kick it”
I clicked it and sent it, the flirt that is
Is this what online dating is like?
Hmmm, this might be all right
But wait, I hear they’re perverts and stuff like that…
Is this the type of place that I can find a prince at?
I don’t think so; I’ll see when I get a response.
I hope they’re prepared for this mom of three.
Well, uh, the response landed in my inbox and it was time to step up
There was this dude with his hat, I smiled and thought here’s to luck
I ain’t trying to get hooked just yet, I just got here on this dating scene
I sprang with the quickness like lightning, with my response but did he know what I mean?
I wished for a prince and when he came near
I said, “Well how about this one here?”
If anything I could say that this prince was rare
but I thought “How can I just sit there and stare”
He messaged me back that night
I thought to myself, well this is all right.
We talked for a while
What felt like a year I hoped that he would not up and disappear.
To my surprise
He pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to me “Hello, there”
Looked at my prince, he was finally here
To call as my own, I felt faint. But it was hard to not feel
My prince was finally here.
